PATIENT ACCOUNT SERVICES

Savoy Medical Center will provide billing and collecting services for your insurance needs. You will be notified of any remaining balance in your account. Should you have any questions concerning your account, please contact the Savoy Medical Center Patient Account Representative (PAC) at 337-468-5261.

NOTICE TO ALL MEDICARE PATIENTS

During the admission process, you will be given "An Important Message From Medicare" to read and sign. If you have any questions, please contact the number given on the message or Savoy Medical Center's Admissions Department at Extension 187 or at (337) 468-0187.

SECURITY

Savoy Medical Center provides Security Personnel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have any situations requiring Security, please call Extension 100 or dial 0 for the operator and ask for Security. Also, visitors may contact Security for an excort to a vehicle.

PINK LADY VOLUNTEERS

For general information, please ask the Pink Lady Volunteers, located in the Main Lobby. the Pink Ladies can assist you by giving the room number of a patient, or direct you to all areas of the hospital. the Pink Ladies also distribute free literature about healthcare subjects such as Diabetes, Heart disease, Cancer or Arthritis.

SMOKING

For the safety and comfort of patients and visitors, Savoy Medical Center prohibits smoking within the hospital by patients, family members, visitors and employees of the hospital. Patients with special circumstances must get written permission allowing them to smoke from their physician. Designated areas outside of the hospital have been set up for visitors to smoke.

VISITING HOURS

Visiting hours for patients, except those in ICU are from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Only visitors staying with their patients overnight after hours. Visiting for ICU patients are held at 6 a.m., 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

FAMILY ROOMS

Savoy Medical Center tries to provide families for ICU patients a temporary room for rest or to await news. Contact the Admissions Department to determine availability.

ICU AND OPERATING ROOM WAITING AREA

The ICU and Operating Room waiting area is located between the ICU and Cafeteria. Physicians will meet with family members in this area to discuss the surgery outcomes or to provide information on ICU patients.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT RENTAL

Home medical equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, walkers, bedside commodes, home medical oxygen, etc. as well as enteral nutrition therapy, as ordered by your physician, can be arranged through the vendor of your choice.

TELEPHONE USAGE

To call room-to-room or to any hospital department: touch the room number or the department's extension.

Local calls - Touch 9, then dial the local number you wish to call. Long distance Calls - Dial 9, then 0, and then the number you wish to call or wait for an outside operator to come on the line. Toll-free numbers may be dialed by touching 9, then the toll-free number.

Incoming Calls - Your room may be called directly by dialing 468-0 + room number. If you are on the OB/GYN floor, the number is 468-4 + room number. Otherwise, callers can dial the hospital operator at 468-5261.

PARKING

Parking facilities are provided to patient's families and visitors free of charge. The south side paved parking lot (adjacent to Poinciana Avenue) has been designated for family and visitor parking.

VALUABLES

Savoy Medical Center will not be responsible for any valuables a patient may choose to retain in the patient room. We strongly advise that these valuables be sent home with a family member. However, Savoy Medical Center will store valuables in safekeeping upon request. This request can be made to your admitting nurse.

PATIENT REPRESENTATIVE

During your stay at Savoy medical Center, you will be visited by a Patient Representative. This representative will confirm you stay here is satisfactory and will be available to take any questions, suggestions or comments you may have. If you have any concerns before or after this visit, please call (337) 468-5261, EXT 383.
